The math specialist job at Greencastle is to work with students who need additional support in math to be successful in the classroom.  Students are screened through district wide assessments as well as specific assessments for the skills and strategies they are working on within the classroom.  Students who are chosen for this additional support are seen 5 times a week for 30 minutes each day.  The program that we are using is Bridges Intervention.  For third and fourth grade our focus is base ten operations - addition and subtraction with multi-digit numbers.  In fifth grade our focus is base ten operations – multiplication and division of multi-digit numbers.
